onidemon Posted February 3, 2015 Share Posted February 3, 2015 Hi, i have an HP Z420 with an generic intel board with Xeon E5-1620 v1 sandy bridge and Quadro K4000 (HP version) I've successfully installed Yosemite 10.10 and updated to 10.10.2. My graphic card runs well on the web drivers and i can boot just fine with chameleon with flags dart=0 and npci=0x3000 I tried using Clover but it just won't work on my system. 1st question before anything, i've installed os x while my motherboard was set to legacy not EFI. Is that why Clover wont work even tho i switched it to EFI? I know windows 8 wont work if it was installed in legacy and needs to be reinstalled for UEFI, is it the same for OS X? I've followed this guide to create a usb key with Clover https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kH9TDSlejPc But when i try to boot it stops at FakeSMCkeystroke: started and then nothing happens. It looks like for some reason fakesmc won't load. At first when i picked my OSX drive it would stop at Applekeystroke but after i've copied the latest version of fakesmc to EFI->Clover-> Kexts->other now i goes one more step passed that and stops at fakesmcKeystroke:started I've tried all the boot options, safe mode, without cache, single user mode and nothing works. Single user mode won't even let me type stuff. If i pick the OS X installer instead of my OS X drive at the bootscreen it gets stuck at missing bluetooth controller transport... I've tried to configure Clover with Clover Configurator and tried nvda_drv=1 and nv_disable=1 or Nividia inject under the graphics tab... i've tried with nothing selected.. i tried with kext dev mode=1, i tried to set kext inject to yes instead of detect under pc parameters... nothing works. It's always the same outcome and i have a feeling the fakesmc doesn't load and i dont get why or how to make it load. I can't enter any commands at the boot screen even with single user mode. I tried so many different options and read so many post. I've even got a bunch of people to help me and nobody could figure it out. Is it possible Clover just isn't compatible with Quadro cards or just mine? Or with my system? onidemon Posted February 3, 2015 Author Share Posted February 3, 2015 Bump. I manged to make some progress. I re-did the key and downloaded the latest clover pkg and installled it to the key. I get further now and it even seems to boot with nvda_drv=1 but then i get a black screen. I checked the forums and saw pple using nv_disable=1 to fix this but for me doing so prevents it from booting. Not sure where to go from here. Seems like i almost have it but i am missing something. i didnt change the default clover config, i only added -v, npci=0x2000, dart=0 and nvda_drv=1 and i added the smbios for Mac Pro 6,1 other than that i touched nothing. onidemon Posted February 4, 2015 Author Share Posted February 4, 2015 ok i re-did the clover usb from scratch, i set nv_disable=1 and then i booted without cache to get rid of the error above and now it fully boots into yosemite with display but it gets stuck at the spinning beach ball of death. nvda_drv=1 gives me a black screen(no display) any suggestions?
