LozU
Hello, sorry if this has been answered in another forum post however i have looked for a solution for a long time. I am trying to run Mac OS X 10.10 Yosemite on VMware workstation 10.0.3 (Build 1895310) It loads up to the point of the apple logo and displays this error message ""The CPU has been disabled by the guest operating system. You will need to power off or reset the virtual machine at this point." I have tried to fix this error in many ways, 1 - Enabling SVM or AMD V (Hardware virtualization) in BIOS (was already enabled) (following this guide = http://www.manualslib.com/manual/437993/Gigabyte-Ga-F2a55m-Hd2.html?page=28 ) 2 - Masking CPUID (cpuid.1.eax = "0000:0000:0000:0001:0000:0110:1010:0101") suggested here = http://minhdanh2002.blogspot.co.uk/2012/07/fixing-cpu-has-been-disabled-by-guest.html 3 - Enabling PAE (paevm = "TRUE") 4 - Fiddling with VM settings 5 - Reinstalling VMware Workstation My Processor - AMD A8 5600k My Motherboard - Gigabyte F2A55M-HD2 Error message = Thank you for reading - any help is greatly appreciated! -Loz Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/303224-the-cpu-has-been-disabled-by-the-guest-operating-system-you-will-need-to-power-off-or-reset-the-virtual-machine-at-this-point/ Share on other sites
MSoK
LozU, You will need to use a distribution of OS X Yosemite with support for an AMD kernel search for Niresh's guides and downloads. The vanilla download of Yosemite only supports Intel processors, and will not work with your system.
