nopea
I am trying to figure out this need for patches - tell me if this is correct - OS X (retail out of the box etc etc) will not run on non Apple machines even if they use the same hardware.... so the patch is to remove that protection? So a commercial DVD version would not install unless it was 'patched'? Thanks, Chris Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/30266-little-confused-about-patches/ Share on other sites
skredii
You need JaS patched install. Go on demonoid and get the latest JaS 10.4.7 ISO repack. Report your success in this thread. nopea
Actually I got and installed it fine other than my Nvidia card not working to its full potential - I was just curious as to what these patches actually do. skredii
The kernel is patched to allow it to boot on a hack. Btw we are stuck on 10.4.4 kernel, hopefully semthex is modding the open source 10.4.7 kernel. He is very close to have it boot in single user mode on a hack. nopea
One more question then - for a P4, do I just need to enable SSE3 patch? Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/30266-little-confused-about-patches/#findComment-209874 Share on other sites
