williedigital
So, not sure if this problem is specifically an OSX86 problem but... I'm trying to access a shared drive on a windows machine in my network. My macbook sees it fine and it works perfectly with it. When i do a fresh install of osx86 jas 10.4.7, osx sees the same drive when i browse the network, but when i click the little shortcut icon for it, I get this message "The alias "willsever" could not be opened, because the original item cannot be found". I'm given the option to delete alias (don't have the propper permissions), fix alias (gives me a finder window) and ok, which just closes the error box. If I check the shortcut via get info it says the location "file://localhost/Network" whereas my macbook gives me the correct network address when I do that. I've tried restarting all combinations of the machines and everything else I can possibly think of to fix this, but I am at my wit's end. Any guesses??
