Ok..here's what I've done....

1) I used the Maklar DMG/ISO, and burned a perfect copy of 10.4.1.

2) I installed it PERFECTLY on a Dell Latitude D510. Boots fine & everything works including lot of OEM programs.

3) I d/l the JaS 10.4.6 and burned it at dvd 1x (just to make sure).

4) I d/l the Jas 10.4.7 package just to be current.

Here's what happens....

1) Everytime I try to boot from the 10.4.6 DVD, it begins the load process and then immediately reboots.

2) When I try to open the 10.4.6 DVD from the 10.4.1 desktop, I get the grey screen of death (the one with the foreign languages and it asks you to hold down the power button to turn it off)

Here's what I wanna do (if possible) ....

1) Boot from the JaS 10.4.6 CD to UPGRADE my copy of 10.4.1 to 10.4.6.

OR

2) Run the Installer from the 10.4.1 desktop to upgrade to 10.4.6

Does ANYONE know how to get around my booting/GSOD issues?

You can't upgrade 10.4.1 to 10.4.6. Apple significantly changed OSX starting with 10.4.3. As a result, most current Intel OSX apps won't run on 10.4.1. I'm sure preference file formats and other things changed as well. The best thing to do is save out your mail, bookmarks and other inportant documents and reinstall from scratch.

Mail: Home/Library/Mail (folder)

Bookmarks: Home/Library/Safari/Bookmarks.plist (file)

Use VMWare to install 10.4.6 to your hard drive. You do not need to use VMWare to run 10.4.6: http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?showtopic=11314
