Dr. Evil
ok, firstly let me just express my appreciation for ffmpegx, this is a killer app for the mac. anyway, i want to convert some movies to 3gp to watch on my phone. my question is how can you possibly auto split the output into segements of say 3 minutes or 3 megabytes or something. this will avoid having a huge 2 hour long video clip which you cannot fast forward through. instead if i could split into 20 segments and put in a folder on my phone (just like chapters in a dvd) it would be a lot better. under the options tab in ffmpegx i have chosen split video into "2 chunks" 4 chunks" autosplit etc, but this doesn't work. is ffmpegx capable of this or do i need to first split the source file using another util and then encode these segments individually? any suggestions much appreciated. Rammjet
There are many video utilities for Mac. Some are based on ffmpegx but offer an improved interface and better access to the features. Look for another utility here: http://pure-mac.com/video.html VisualHub is an excellent utility.
