mistergonzo_x86
Hey there, i assembled my first Hackintosh Build today and installed everything via you know what (sorry, really wanna get into it first and get it to work) Since I'm a relative beginner (to linux based terminal etc etc in general) I am not very familiar with the debugging technics. The scenario: Everything worked fine so far (RAM at 1333Mhz), but my BIOS/EFI didn't recognize the 1600 Mhz of the RAM directly. So after enabling the XMP in the EFI my Mac won't boot and give me a Kernel Panic. Are there any known issues or workarounds? My Setup: GA Z87X d3h (it has Bios F8 which seems to be the latest not in beta state) Crucial Ballistix Tactical 2x8GB 1600Mhz Haswell i7 4790k no extra GPU I think the rest doesn't matter for this issue. Would be great if someone had a solution or a hint since i want to use the full potential of the RAM. mistergonzo_x86
Ok, I figured it out - by changing the RAM Voltage Manually to 1.5V it worked somehow. Maybe the XMP didn't apply the changes or I was too stupid for it. Now I have the 4.3 Ghz OC limit on the CPU - but I have to get into over clocking first to raise this up maybe. Thanks anyway Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/299592-kernel-panic-after-changing-ram-frequency/#findComment-2041733 Share on other sites
