Dizmal
Alright i have some issues Firstly my master hard drive is 75g split 63g/12g with 20 something gigs free space on the 63gig partion(windows).. The 63g=FAT 32 wheras 12g=Mac OS X journeled is there a way i can increase the size of the mac osx partion by taking away free space from the fat 32(partion) without losing any files/data? I currently have disk director suite installed on windows, or will i need differnet software? (i am willing to purchase) Secondly Mac OS X doesent see my optical drive it is an DVD-/+RW of a year old acer aspire t310 desktop im unsure of the exact model but it is a LG HL-DT-ST. Dizmal
Maybe a soultion to my partion problem http://www.afp548.com/article.php?story=20060405181503909 As of 10.4.6, if you've got a GPT partitioned disk, you can use diskutil from the command line to resize volumes... only concern would this feature be present or would it be a kernel update which
Rammjet
You are running a PC. The drives have to be partitioned using MBR scheme in order for BIOS to read them. GPT (or GUID) is only for Intel Macs. You will not be able to use "diskutil resizeVolume" to resize your MBR partitioned drive partitions.
