Mr. Jason
I am attempting to use a Linksys WPC11 v.3 wireless-B PCMCIA card on a Dell Inspiron 8600 laptop. Unfortunately I cannot even get the card to power on while in the slot. I noticed that there is an entry for "WPC11" in the info.plist for "wirelessdrivers" (http://wirelessdriver.sourceforge.net/). Are these drivers useful to me at all?? How can I get this card working?? I have searched and searched and cannot find the answer to this... any help would be greatly appreciated. Specs on Wifi card: Linksys WPC11 v.3 -- PRISM3 Specs on Computer / OSX Dell Inspiron 8600 Intel wireless 2200BG OSX v. 10.4.6 (i couldnt get 10.4.7 to install properly) Thank You Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/29889-need-help-with-wireless-linksys-wpc11-v3/ Share on other sites

JustBrowsing
Funny I tried the same thing on my Dell 600m, as my cousin has that same card, and I wanted to know if it would work with OSX. Unfortunatly the driver's you're talking about I could never get them working or to notice the WiFi Card. Looks like your out of luck. Rammjet
You are unlikely to get this card working on OSX. First, the card has a Prism chipset. There is only one Prism driver for Intel based OSX and it is a home-brew PrismGT driver, not Prism3: http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?s=&...st&p=196838 Second, many laptops have trouble getting the PCMCIA slots working. If your PCMCIA chipset is Texas Instruments, then this driver may help: http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?showtopic=29583 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/29889-need-help-with-wireless-linksys-wpc11-v3/#findComment-206810 Share on other sites

JustBrowsing
hmmm ok thanks! I suppose ill just have to wait for someone to finally crack the code on that damn Intel 2200BG driver... good luck waiting.... I, personally, don't believe it is going to happen in the near future. I ended up and just bought a Dell Truemobile 1450 to replace my Intel PRO Wireless 2915abg card. It was only $14.00 .... so i wouldn't exactly calling it breaking the bank. Hell, my hair cut cost more than the mini pci card.
