moesasin
So i found this disc on limewire months ago and have been fidling with it since. Its called "Mac Os X 10.4 Tiger (Install) (x86)". The odd part is that its a cd. So i put it in my cd drive and boot off it. It says Darwin something....something.......press any button for start up options. I just wait for its 10 second ticker to go by and it starts all this code running down the screen then it says i can install darwin on my hard drive, then pick the drive. I do, then it says format the hard drive using hfs and it does. Then it extracts all this apple stuff for about a half hour then asks me to set up a system password i do then it reboots. It boots into darwin and then asks for a password and then it says "Welcome to darwin!" Is this cd legit? If it is then what do i do next and is there a guide for this installation? Thanks Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/29831-older-104-install-cd/ Share on other sites
Overdriven
I think you may be looking at a Darwin install disk, maybe from the EARLY, EARLY days of OSX86 when people were trying to install OSX from a leaked rip of some of the hard drive contents at the WWDC when they showed of an intel development platform. They tried to do this by installing darwin, and then copying the files onto the hard drive and attempting to get it to work. (This method Phails™ completely). Limewire, also, is filled with misnamed files and other {censored} and I wouldn't trust it for downloading an OS. -Neospy Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/29831-older-104-install-cd/#findComment-205983 Share on other sites
