brn
Hello, I'm currently running iATKOS ML2 in a VirtualBox VM, and I'm trying to upgrade to Mavericks. I've tried several guides to the letter--this one most recently--but they all end with the same result: This is before the installer loads, and this is as far as I get. I've tried all sorts of combinations of -x, GraphicsEnabler=Yes/No, cpus=1, UseKernelCache=Yes/No. I've spent all day trying to resolve this with no luck, and I'm on the brink of giving up. Please help! Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/297826-upgrading-to-mavericks-stuck-before-install/ Share on other sites
brn
It took the whole weekend, but I finally got the installer running in VirtualBox. The key was this little gem from http://ntk.me/2012/09/07/os-x-on-os-x/: VBoxManage modifyvm <vmname> --cpuidset 00000001 000306a9 00020800 80000201 178bfbff With the VM's CPU ID set to Ivy Bridge, a vanilla myHack setup worked: 1) Create a second VirtualBox VDI for the install partition 2) Open myHack and create the 10.9 installer on the empty partition using InstallESD.dmg 3) Reboot and use F12 to select the partition to start the installer. No kernel flags necessary in my case.
