Do any of you with the Merom have any problems with compatability or anything? I'm quite excited for a Merom MBP, but I was just wondering if I'm in for any surprises with non-compabability (once they eventually ship). Any thoughts on this issue? Thanks! No. Current 64 bit processors have full 32 bit support, along with all the usual extensions (SSE, SSE2, SSE3, ect..). enb14 Posted October 9, 2006 Share Posted October 9, 2006 Disadvantages, on a 64 bit OS, it needs a bigger chunk size so in other words if you work OK with 512MB on 32bit, you will need 1024MB on a 64 bit.
