Geforce GTX 9800GTX+ post-install

Hi guys,

I`ve just installed mavericks, and everything seems to work fine. My settings are:

GIGABYTE GA-Z68MA-D2H-B3

INTEL Core i7 - 2600k @ 3.4Ghz (Sandy Bridge)
8GB 1600Mhz Corsair

NVIDIA Geforce 9800GTX+ (dev id. 0x0613)

 

Problem is:

 

1) It takes 5 times to start the mac os (seriously, without changing any settings). It loads, get stuck at apple logo, then restart, then load again, kernel panic, then restart, then white screen forever, then restart... until I get to desktop.

 

2) The system does recognise my graphic card, but it might not be working so well. I mean, i can play the chess game, but I`m getting a 61 LuxMark score with my GPU. I think something is really wrong.

 

3) The apple logo at start won`t go 1080p. (I get some black bars, don`t know why).

 

4) Can`t set the audio to 5.1. (Yes, I have a 5.1 system connected)

 

Can you guys help me out?

 

I`ve used myHack for installing, and ##### after.

Hello and welcome!

 

1) Is your cpu overclocked via multiplier, blc or both mixed? OSX uses the blc for some internal timings and calculations, so a non-standard blc can cause problems - especially if the blc differs highly.

 

2) Your 9800GTX+ should be recognized by a Chameleon and work with GraphicsEnabler=Yes. I'm using a GTS250 which is a renamed 9800GTX+. I think the Beast you used for post install is the culprit. It changes too many things undocumented, so it is difficult to say if it edited some kexts... This and the questionable moral behind those Beasts (see http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/279450-why-insanelymac-does-not-support-tonymacx86/ ) are the reasons why IM doesn't recommend using them. I'd suggest reinstalling your system without using it will fix the problem.

 

3) Delete the "Legacy Logo" entry at org.chameleon.boot.plist (btw: the command IGPEnabler is unknown to Chameleon and I suspect the post install {censored} they called Beast inserted those lines - just delete them also)

 

4) I think it's the some thing like your graphics problem (2)
