basil1492
Hi, i wonder if somebody can help me. I've been looking through the forum but can't find an exact answer. I've made a virtual os of mac 10.8 in Vmware. I've finally got everything working except the sound and graphics card. I have an onboard soundcard which is on the Asrock n68c-gs and shows up as a via hd audio in device manager on my host win 7 machine. Also showing there is AMD hd audio. When i power up the mac os the volume button is greyed out and when i go to preferences, sound it says no output/input device. I had tried a few kexts using kext helper including VoodooHDA and AppleHD and reset it etc but i still can't get it to work. I've also tried other things mentioned such as trying headphones etc but nothing seems to help. As for the Radeon 6770 i've read that this is because a mac cant register it unless you mess with the bios and change it down to a 5770 (no idea how to do that and dont particularly want to as i need it for games on the PC). The os works using the built in svga driver but cant play videos etc as this doesnt have opengl. As you can probably guess from this post i'm very new to this. I only need it for xcode as i've been making apps using flash and have been told to learn obj c and xcode to improve chances of a job so this is fairly urgent/important for me but before a few days ago i had never even seen a mac system. PS i also tried virtualbox and a distro called Niresh 10.8 but way too many problems, couldnt get lan to work to start with but strangely the sound worked. I should also point out my sound driver is a via vt1705, i did find a kext that supposedly works and used kext helper to insert it, reset sysem etc but it hasnt worked, still showing no output devices (also did repair disk permissions tho i dont think its needed with helper) Quote Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/295533-can-someone-please-help-with-sound-on-vmware-mac-please/ Share on other sites
