i have a MSI p65 neo-f motherboard (i know, that can be a problem).

after plenty of problems trying to get the dvd drive to work, i finally decided to go the vmware route. it installed great, and now osx is sitting on a sata drive all by itself.

i can reboot windows over and over, and everytime i go into vmware it brings up osx with no problems.

i want to go native and install a bootloader, but the install will not load directly off the hard drive. so far all i have done is go into the bios and change the hard drive boot order to boot from the osx hd. when i restart after that, all i get is the /com.apple.Boot.plist not found error.

i don't understand why it does that when i know the installation works fine under vmware.

i have been searching the forums like crazy, and the wiki with nothing showing any glimpses of a solution.

is this just something that will never work because of my mobo? i can change the bios, and i can vmware into the osx installation and change anything there if it will solve the problem.

thanks!

when i change the hdd to the raid ports, it is now booting to the gray apple logo screen, then giving me a "no" icon (circle with slash through it).

sound like progress, but what next?

i'll continue to research, but if anyone has any advice, please help.

thanks!

Try to press F8 before the darwin screen and try to start -v or -x -v, you can also try to disconnect everything you can live without (like external drives). Your machine has almost like to be the VMware machine (if you have two processor kernels you must have in VMware also 2 processors.

Good luck
