Hi

This laptop seems to be OK with regards to the hardware but I'm having loads of problems getting the install done without a load of flags, and then booting afterwards not in safe boot mode.

I used the UniB method to create the USB inside a VM but needed to run the installer with the following flags to get it to work:

-x -v -f apci=off cpus=1 PCIRootUID=1 GraphicsEnabler=No

All installed OK then booted into safe boot after that with the same flags.  Without the flags the error I got was a local apic kernel error which I am led to believe is commonplace with HP laptops.

Can anybody point me in the right direction to get past the booting with numerous flags so I can get a clean boot and then get the missing bits and pieces after that? Not bothered which method I use I'd just love to get it working!

It looks like it works for other people See here but I'm falling at the first hurdle and any help would be much appreciated!
