mpalomba3 Posted December 29, 2013 Share Posted December 29, 2013 Hi guys I just installed Mavericks on my Dell XPS 410. It was running great until my hard drive icon disappeared. I logout and log back in to see if that would solve the problem, instead of solving the problem several icons disappeared. Most of the icons on the dock have disappeared and the desktop icons. What can I do to fix this? I've tried some terminal commands and restarting but nothing seems to work. I also would like to add that I used clean my Mac to clean up some files. It scanned my Mac and said that it found 3.16 GB worth of system files that were not necessary. I let it clean my Mac and then I noticed that my icons are gone so I am not positive if this is the cause but is a possibility. I am really hoping I don't have to reinstall Mavericks because this computer is complicated to install and you need another Mac to transfer files onto the hard drive after it installs and I no longer have another Mac available. I have included a screenshot of what my screen looks like with the icons gone. The icons still appear in launchpad but not anywhere else.
