BCM94322HM8L won't power on

First, forgive me if this should be addressed somewhere else.  I have searched the forum high and low and find several suggestions that have not worked for my situation.

 

I have a Toshiba A665-S6094 laptop that I have installed OSX Mavericks on via ([url="http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/279450-why-insanelymac-does-not-support-tonymacx86/"]#####[/url] also tried MyHack).  Both install successfully and I'm up and running with some basic boot options.  However I was not able to get my wireless card working so based on some research I purchased and installed Broadcom BCM94322HM8L.  When I boot, the card is recognized as an airport extreme (I did the ubuntu config rewrite the sprom thing) however the status show "inactive/off".

 

I am unable to power on the card using "networksetup -setairportpower en0 on".  I get no errors in console or otherwise.

 

My Toshiba has touch capacitive sudo buttons for tuning off/on wifi, etc... and those are non functional under OSX.  I have tried enabling/disabling those buttons in the bios to no avail.

 

Any further suggestions or help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for the reply ... the third link you posted is the one I followed to successfully rebrand my card.  It does now show as an Airport Extreme.  I also tried several other methods of installing and configurations as well as the two other links you posted.

 

I believe the problem is that I am not able to power on the card because of the lack of support for the capacitive touch buttons.

if worse comes to worse replace it.. AR5B91 half in ebay $6 or less!!

search for VGN-NS Series Wifi Wireless Card 141797911 or T77H047.00

it uses the AR928x driver natively no mods needed since 10.6.3+

your bios shouldnt have a whitelist for allowed wifi cards as u are able to use an alternate card already.
