Hello Vik

Saw your dual boot post. Using vista boot, is it possible to add XP or XP64? I actually tried this by first installing OSX, then XP to C: and Vista to D:. Changed boot.ini to D: for C:. Followed your blog the rest fo the way. could dual boot vista and XP but could not boot Mac OS.

Any experience with triple booting ? I'd like to avoid Acronis if possiible.

using JaS 10.4.6, PATA hard drive. All partitions primary.

thanks in advance.

NOTE: FIRST READ COMPLETE POST THEN ATTEMPT TO DO ANYTHING OTHERWISE U'll BE LOST!!!

Hey tbart...

Actually ur post is not pretty clear...well, below is what i could extract from this:

you have:

C:\XP

D:\ VISTA

and OS X somewhere else...

now you need not to copy boot.ini to your D:\ drive...

just in Vistaboot give the address of legacy Os as C:\....and in boot.ini file add the Chain0 file location. Chain0 should be in C:\(XP) not D:\ this time...

now reboot...

now ur first bootloader screen should be like:

XP

VISTA...

now if you enter in VISTA ...vista should be loading...

To enter into OS X...enter in XP

then you should have another boot loader screen ...showing::

XP

OS X...

now choose whatever u like...

hope this will work...

WEll this was a quite creepy work to beer two bootloaders separetly...

so what can be done is:

START OVER::i mean forget about whatever i said earlier...Don't make any change in C:\boot.ini...all files should be in the orignal state..

Do two entries of Legacy OS in Vista BOOT...

one as C:\XP

Another as D:\ MAC OS X

download boot.zip posted by me in earlier dual boot discussion.

extract and put both files, boot.ini and ntldr in ur D:\(Vista Partiton).

put chain0 in D:\ itself..

Now edit D:\boot.ini according tour partition table...i mean in ur case(VISTA IN D:\) change C:\chain0 to D:\chain0....DON't MAKE ANY NEW ENTRY!!!

All done...

Hope this will resolve your problem...

Please Get back to me if any problem persists.
