Mavericks Messages Fix

I know there are many posts about this topic. That said, I wanted to post one that works consistently for myself and hopefully for you as well. None of the steps are new, but their order of execution is important. I found all this information here on InsanelyMac. I have done this on a Mountain Lion to Mavericks upgrade installation as well as a fresh Mavericks installation.

 

1) Sign out of Messages.

2) Restart.

3) Sign into iTunes with your Apple ID.

4) Enter your credit card information in Account Information.

5) Restart.

6) Install Chameleon-2.2svn-r2269.pkg and its FileNVRAM module (InsanelyMac>Downloads).

7) Restart.

8) Sign into Messages.

9) You may delete the FileNVRAM module now and remove your credit card information as well if you like.

 

The restarts between steps are important. I hope this helps someone.
