Hi. If your dev-id is 16B3, so try this version. After that look at Console, IOReg and about that mac(PCI, Ethernet)

Hello Alex, thanks u very much for your help. I'm new to the Mac world. Would you please tell me where exactly shall I place the content of your attached zip file in IONetworkingFamily.kext/Contents/PlugIns/AppleBCM5701Ethernet.kext ?

Thanks

GiuTor

Is your dev-Id 16b5 exactly? Because all website tell that it should be 16b3 for bcm57786.

No, it's 16b3. I checked from Linux with lspci -nn:

02:00.0 Ethernet controller [0200]: Broadcom Corporation NetXtreme BCM57786 Gigabit Ethernet PCIe [14e4:16b3] (rev 01)

Ah ok. Mine is actually bcm57785. Sorry about that :)

Can you compile http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/files/file/79-bcm5722d/ to support SL (32&64).

Thanks again

Would you please tell me where shall I copy the above file? In the message log I get a file not found error related to IOEthernetAVBController.

Can you please share light on this matter, I'm brand new to the Mac world.

Thank u.

GiuTor

I compiled it myself with your source.. Thanks again for the 3rd time.. Cheers :)

Oh. Great! Can you give me your version for SL? I'll attache it to my link of BCM5772D. Because I can't compile it since I use Mavericks.

I was going to give you that instruction http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/247470-bcm5722-bcm5754m-bcm5755m-bcm5787m-and-bcm5906m-nic-driver-3264-bit/?p=1932872

but I see you've already done it and that's good.

And by the way, does it work for you?

You can copy bcm5722d to S.../L.../E...IONetworkingFamily.kext/Contents/PlugIns or just to S/L/E.

Don't forget lunch kext utility after.

In a word. Copy it to System/Library/Extensions. As it is easy to find.

This is what I get when trying to load BCM5722D (please see the attached pictures). Did I miss anything? It doesn't say which are the missed dependencies.

I have also attached my chameleon boot file.

Thanks for your patience,

GiuTor

I asked rals2007 to compile the kext for those who use snow leopard. Try mine kext.

Still the same error as in the attached pictures. I wonder where is line 226 in the Info.plist file as the grep output shows line 23.

By the way, I do not want "ready to eat food". I DO wish to learn how to hack drivers as you and rals2007 are doing. Can you please point me to the guidelines?

Do you have any clue?

Try this same version with edited CFBundleVersion

I think it happened because I changed version from 2.3.5 to 2.3.5b.

Now try this, I checked this on my computer, works. New version with your dev-id added

BCM5722D.kext.zip

<key>DTSDKBuild</key>
<string>12D75</string>
Maybe the reason that you have the version lower than 12D75.
Then, you have two options.
First, you bake kext on your own by Xcode with my promts.
Second, you need to update the system.

First of all thank you so much indeed for your extreme kindness. I DO really appreciate the time you spending with me.

I can't update 10.8.2 since I do not have any Internet connection because both networks cards are unrecognized.

I will use Xcode with your prompts, thanks.

I have attached the new error messagges.
