Installing 10.5.7 on an AMD Athlon (Still waiting for root device)

I'm attempting to install iDeneb 1.5.1 (OS 10.5.7) on an AMD Athlon X2 5000+. I know it's more than possible as I've seen it done on youtube. My problem is, when I get to the intstaller, I'm stuck on "Still waiting for root device".

My BIOS does not have an ahci/IDE setting.

My specs on the windows side are as follows..

So am I unable to install OSX? I've tried all the obvious stuff, npci=0x3/2000, GraphicsEnabler, -x, -f, all that good stuff.
