10.4.7 after install goes to BLUE screen on boot up

Ok, just wondering if anyone can help.

 

I installed OSX 10.4.7 (JaS) successfully. When I boot machine, it goes through white screen, then says, Starting OSX, Then goes to blue screen with cursor & beachball, then cursor disappears, and the screen hangs on the BLUE screen. I have tried hooking up an additional monitor. I have connected an S-video display, and the paperclip trick. No of these have any effect. I installed OSX using the customize options.

Here are my specs.

 

Gateway M500

Intel Pentium 4 2200 Northwood(SSE2 capable)

nVIDIA GeForce4 420 Go 32M

256MB ram

40gb hard disk

cd/dvdrw

 

let me know if you need any other info. Any and all help would be appreciated. I already have OSX86 running on my desktop, 100% functional. (i am not sure what quark express is)
