I followed the instructions and everything went peachy until I went to reboot.

When I boot back to the disk and select utilites>startup disk the OSX system wont see my windows partition to set as a default startup disk. Not sure where to go rom here....

Any help would be greatly appreciated. This is all new to me...

Startup Disk cannot be used on a Hackintosh. That is why there is so much talk about bootloaders.

You need to set your OSX partition "active" and reveal the OSX bootloader: http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?s=&...st&p=201048

Thank you. That worked great, and windows is now booting fine. Now when I select the Mac OSX option to boot, I get the Yellow screen that says I need to reboot my computer.

Thoughts?

Right before you clicked the Install button, you first had to click the Customize button and choose packages for your computer. Click the little arrow beside the patches category to reveal the individual packages. Select Intel or AMD packages, not both. Select SSE2 or SSE3, not both, depending upon the capability of your processor. Select the Combo Update to get the latest version of OSX. Select other packages only if you are sure your computer needs them.

I dont have that many options with the install I am using, but I went ahead and changed mine to SSE3 as that is my processors capabilities. I will post the results.

Thanks for your help so far.

You are the man! I finally got one to work (Build 10.4.1) but now I have no graphics support. I have spent all morning reading through threads and even found the one you had about my card with the AGPGart and callisto. Tried all that, but still no graphics card support. Only getting 1024 x 768 resolution.

ATI 9600Pro Mac/PC (AGP X4)

Intel P4, SSE3

It also seems to only recognize 16mb of a 256 mb card

Thoughts? Is there a better build I can upgrade to that would support this any better.

The alternate options did not work either. I am going to try with a different install package.

...sigh...

OSX 10.4.1. It is old and busted. Apple made major changes to Intel OSX starting with 10.4.3. As a result, current apps won't run on 10.4.1.

Find, download and install from a 10.4.5, 10.4.6, 10.4.7 iso.

As far as video goes, no matter what version you install, you will be dealing with Callisto and AGPGart for your card. Read all of the documents included with the Callisto package expecially the FAQ for info on QE/CI. Lots of other people have struggled with a 9600 card. Do a board search on "9600"

After two days, countless smokes and cups of coffee, I am pleased to say that everything appears to running normally, with graphics support, etc...

There are only two questions I have.

1. When I get info, the system says I have a 4Ghz processor (I have a 2.9 Ghz Intel P4, SSE3)

2. I would like to have dual monitor support.

Thoughts on that? Would the AGPGart give me that.

Other than that, I am running extermely fast, and smooth. ( I will keep my fingers crossed!)

You ARE the man! I appreciate you patience with me. Believe it or not I am a developer, but I have spent my life on PC's. The Unix stuff came back as I used the terminal more and more.

Thank you, thank you, thank you!

1. Does that for most people. When I overclocked my processor, it gave the same wrong speed.

2. There are only 2 ways to get dual monitor support - use an Intel 9xx graphics system with an add-on ADDS card. Or run some select laptops with an external monitor. No one else can get dual monitor support.
