consolation
I'm putting together a hack to replace my ageing G4; but I find contradictory information on using SATA as boot drive for OSx86. My plan is to use an ASUS P5LD2-VM SE which is the same mobo as the ASUS P5LD2-VM in the HCL - but without the built in RAID. It uses a 945G chipset with the ICH7 controller. Since the system will only have one HD, I need to know if I will be able to get away with a SATA drive? Help much appreciate, TIA Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/29223-sata-on-asus-p5ld2-vm-se/ Share on other sites
Wallstreet
I'm booting to SATA on a P5LD2-VM 2.0 - Same board, two more DIMM slots. No problems.
