Help installing 10.8.4 on HP Ultrabook

Vendor: HP

Model: B8U90UT#ABA

Revision: 1894-100

Processor: Intel Core i5-3317U 1.7GHz

Chipset: Intell HM77

Graphics: Intel HD Graphics 4000

I'm trying to get OS X 10.8 installed on this little ultrabook, for fun. I have already run in to a kernal panic that forces me to do:

"cpus=1 -v"

I am now stuck at:
'Waiting for root device"

I figured it might have been the MSATA SSD, so I removed it but no dice, was curious if anyone has any suggestions.

Thank you.
