jhn
Hello I'm getting following error message using VMWare Workstation 5.5.2 *** VMware Workstation internal monitor error (bug 9297) *** The guest operating system you are running is using the Physical Address Extension (PAE) processor option. For more information about running PAE-enabled guest operating systems, please consult http://www.vmware.com/info?id=28 As told to do, I put the line paevm = "TRUE" to the FreeBSD.vmx-file. But the problem persists. I have Acer-laptop with Intel Celeron M 1.3GHz. Does it have PAE (what ever it is)?? ttyseven
look for some infos on PAE here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Physical_Address_Extension I own an Fujitsu Siemens Laptop with Celeron M and it runs well. I think... Oh I found your mistake! not in .vmx file! its the .vmdk (the one without -flat in name) Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/29173-physical-address-extension-pae/#findComment-200296 Share on other sites
jhn
look for some infos on PAE here:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Physical_Address_Extension Hmmm... Interesting, Wikipedia says for Intel Processors PAE existence "…except the 400 MHz bus versions on the Pentium M)". So, I have 400MHz bus Celeron M, which should be very much the same as Pentium M. I own an Fujitsu Siemens Laptop with Celeron M and it runs well. I think... Nice to hear that, but what Celeron that is actually? Oh I found your mistake! not in .vmx file! its the .vmdk (the one without -flat in name) Hmmmm.... I'm not sure about that. wmdk is a realy huge file. ttyseven
no there are two vmdk files! one is config, one is your "virtual harddrive" image. I read the stuff about vmx on the given vmware site, it must be an mistake. vmdk works well. My Celeron M is a Dothan.
