jamiethemorris
I've managed to track down the gray background used in Mavericks' login screen as well as the silver apple to use in Mountain Lion. The login background also works as a notification center background if you convert it to a .tiff. I used Onyx to change the apple logo and the background in the login screen, and the notification center background can be changed by converting and renaming the Mavericks background to linen.tiff with Preview and replacing /System/Library/CoreServices/Notification Center/Contents/Resources/linen.tiff. I found the login background here: http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=1617209&highlight=mavericks+background And the silver apple logo is in /System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/LoginUIKit.framework/Versions/A/Frameworks/LoginUICore.framework/Versions/A/Resources/apple_s1.png.
