OS X 10.4.7 not recognizing Belkin F5D7000 card

Hello, good people of InsanelyMac.

I am new to your Forum and hope my question is not too elementary or intrusive. I have just installed OS X 10.4.7 (from a DVD burned from the JaS torrent) on its own partition and it runs perfectly *except* that it won't recognize my Belkin F5D7000 wireless card at all. I am in a location in which wired Ethernet is not practicable, so I must connect wirelessly.

I have read in other threads on your Forum that the F5D7000 is supposed to be compatible with OS X; however, this is a new OS to me and I don't know if there is the equivalent of a device manager in OS X, or how to access it if there is. I have tried creating a new connection using the Network control panel, but it tells me that wired Ethernet is not connected (which is true) and gives me only one choice: a dial-up connection. All the other options are greyed out.

Is there any way to get OS X to 'see' my F5D7000?

Thanks,

~* Aikanar *~

P.S. My system is an eMachines T3828 with an 80 gig drive, a 2.8GHz CPU and 768MB of RAM.

Did you select the Wireless Networking Support package under Customize? (It is greyed out in my picture, but it is there)

It doesn't says it's compatible on the Wiki

You checked under 10.4.7. But it shows it as compatible under 10.4.6. The many people who entered their data under 10.4.6 into the Wiki haven't bothered to go back to carry their data forward to the 10.4.7 list.
