CWALL
Hi I have tried to install jas 10.4.6 to my intel based motherboard. DFI Infinity Socket 775, Intel Pentium D/Pentium 4/Celeron D/Core 2, 1066MHz FSB, CrossFire Technology, PCI Express x16/x4/x1, Dual-Channel DDR2 533/667/800, 8-channel audio, Optical/RCA S/PDIF, 1 eSATA, 4 SATA (RAID 0/1/0+1/5), 1 Gigabit LAN, 2 IEEE 1394, 8 USB 2.0 6400 conroe 2gb ram, 2 sata drives, ata dvd-r ATI X1900GT video card. I have xp on a sata drive and I added another sata drive to install X. I did use the customize selection to install the intel/amd patches. on boot to drive with -v it the last thing I see fly by is text about processor family, but I dont see any error as it goes right to a clean blue bg. Not sure where to go from here Thanks Chuck Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/28890-boots-all-the-way-to-blue-screen-conroe-cpu/ Share on other sites

CWALL
I hope you selected ONLY Intel patches for your Intel processor. In the installer it did not give me a choice just indicated intel/amd is there way to pick just the intel? or have I obtained a mixed version? Rammjet
For most of the recent installers, when you click Customize, you find an Intel and AMD Patches category. Then you click the little arrow to the left of that to reveal the individual patches. Choose only Intel patches, not AMD. Choose SSE2 or SSE3, not both, depending upon the capability of your processor. Choose the Combo Updater to get the latest version of OSX. Choose other packages only if you know your computer needs them. http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?act...ost&id=4249 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/28890-boots-all-the-way-to-blue-screen-conroe-cpu/#findComment-198186 Share on other sites

Rammjet
will the os support the ati 1900gtby default or will i need to download ati mac drivers? The ATI Mac drivers are for Mac version ATI cards not PC version ATI cards. You can perform the Boris patch for your card. Follow the Boris link in my sig. Posting 1 of that link is a manual method. Posting 3 provides an installer. They perform slightly differently and different people have better results with one or the other. CWALL
Well I found that the boris ati driver does indeed work on the x1900gt! All I need to get working is networking! I have a realtek RTL8168/8111 on board nic. From what I have read I will need to locate 10.4.4 extensions. I have an osx genuine disc 10.4 ? Can I get the IONETWORKINGFAMILY from that or is there a better direction to go? I want to load universal Final cut pro on the system... I dont have my hopes too high that it will run , but it will be a fun test.
