campcky21 Posted September 28, 2006 Share Posted September 28, 2006 please somebody help me out because ive been attempting this for a while since im a noob. i load up on my 10.4.6 install disk and the white mac screen (or i call it the white scrren of death). io have a p4 w/ht 3.4ghz. ati radeon x1600pro. im going to driving schooll but any responses would be greatly appreciated. Rammjet Posted September 28, 2006 Share Posted September 28, 2006 When the install DVD brings up Darwin and asks you to hit Enter or F8, press F8 and type -v at the prompt. This will display messages during the boot. Report back the last few lines being displayed when it hangs or better, post a picture of the screen. Also, check your computer's BIOS and see if you can turn off Hyperthreading.
