Aperture 3 + 10.8 + VMWare problems problem problems :(

So I've hit a brick wall. I'm tinkering w/ Aperture and just can't quite figure out how to fix this.

Aperture 3.4.1, OS X 10.8.3, AMD Phenom and 2GB of RAM.

I'm having the usual "graphics adapter not supported" error w/ VMWare, however I have tried the performLicenseCheck hex edit trick and VMSVGA2 installation to no avail. Any other ideas? Also, how can I check that VMSVGA2 is actually installed?
