I've only said "stay away from VIA audio chips and Broadcom Lan".

i.e. I would not buy http://it.gigabyte.c...-z77m-d3hrev_10 because it mounts the VIA VT2012 audio.

i.e. I would not buy http://www.asrock.co...=Specifications because it mounts the Broadcom BCM57781 Lan.

I would buy GA-Z77-DS3H because it is one of the most compatible motherboard that I ever seen and it's really cheap.

For a cost effective solution, I can recommend 2 Gigabyte boards. B75M D3P which has 3x SATAIII (1 on Intel Chipset & 2 on Marvell Chipset) and 5x SATAII with USB3.0 or the cheaper option B75M D3H which has 1x SATA III & 4x SATAII. Both of these boards are perfect budget UEFI boards with ALC887 Sound and Realtek LAN which are the most common chipsets ever. ML even detects the Marvell SATAIII ports on the D3P version. I run both without the need for a DSDT file - Sleep works, everything works. Although you will need a DSDT if you want HDMI Audio. I have no need for HDMI so have not tied that. I use a patched 887 AppleHDA with an HDAEnabler which gives me 5.1 audio.

You cannot go wrong with these 2 boards as economy solutions. Unless you want to overclock.
