    Mavericks 10.9.2 Released to Dev

WhoopWhoop! This latest update fixes the problem I had with the Qnix monitor.... just when I was about to dive into my DSDT to try enable DL-DVI from there. I would still like to... any recommended threads on the subject?

    Mavericks 10.9.2 Released to Dev

since the 1st dp of 10.9.2, my Qnix which only supports 2560x1440 as it has no hardware scaler , goes into suspend mode. Any other monitor works, just not the Qnix. Even SL detects the Qnix's native resolution, but the 2 Mavericks 10.9.2 dp's do not. I am starting to wonder if maybe the dvi port on the graphics card is not being recognized as DL-DVI due to new AMD drivers. Because the Qnix only works from a DL-DVI port. That is the only guess I have right now.

    Mavericks 10.9.2 Released to Dev

That's the only thing I was waiting to hear... I thought I was the only one with that problem, but it has been one of the biggest complaints on the Apple support forums. Strangely enough, Apple kept deleting the threads. They are so protective. The Finder was using a huge CPU load the more it was used. SOmeone actually documented CPU usage to prove his point, but the thread was deleted. Now all I can do is wait till the issue I have with a 2560x1440 display is resolved.

    Mavericks 10.9.2 Released to Dev

Still no signal to my 2560x1440 Qnix monitor after the newest preview. If I plug in my Samsung 1920x1080, all is fine. Swap to the Qnix , the monitor goes into standby mode. Weird, since the Qnix works fine on any other version of OS X. It's just the past 2 update previews. Maybe i'll just have to wait for the release version and hope for the best.

Thanks. Already tried that. (Screenshot is from 10.9.1) No luck with 10.9.2 yet.

    Mavericks 10.9.2 Released to Dev

Thanks, but I have correct personalities and all ports working fine via DSDT. There is a really good thread on my exact card http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/278553-make-asus-eah6850-100-work/ which also has a Clover config.plist which I added to mine. Clover hangs at the point of reaching the desktop. With chameleon, the desktop is reached, but the display is switched off on my Qnix monitor. The problem is not in getting ports to work on my graphics card... they all do. I also do not need dual displays either. The problem is that after the update, my Qnix monitor, which can only display 2560x1440 and only works on the first port DL-DVI (which has always been the default port) , switches off at the point of reaching the desktop. My other monitor which is 1920x1080 works from that port just fine. So this is not a personalities issue or display connector issue. Thanks anyway.

    Mavericks 10.9.2 Released to Dev

I never worry about pre-release version of updates, but was curious to see if this update fixes the finder bug that has been heavy on CPU usage for both hacks and real macs. So I installed the 10.9.2 DP update on my test drive and have the following issue. I have a Qnix 2710 evolution ll 27" monitor which has been fine with OS X so far running at 2560x1440. In fact it's a brilliant display panel. It works fine on 10.6.8 and with 10.8.5 and 10.9.1. Somehow this broke with the 10.9.2 update. The monitor goes into suspend mode as soon as OS X is loaded. I swapped the Qnix for my old Samsung 24" and the desktop loads fine. The Qnix does not have onboard scaling, but OS X up until this update has picked up the 2560x1440 display resolution and applied it no problem. Where do I go from here? I do not even know what to try. I will need to get this sorted before final relaese of this update, or I will have to stop updates until there is a solution. Booted up with -X in Chameleon and tried Clover. Clover just hangs. Tried with Graphics Enabler and without. I have not modified any kexts in any way at all to get this card (ASUS EAH6850) to work. It just always works OOB (except for now with 10.9.2). In fact the only modification I ever need to make to OS X kexts is to AppleHDA. I am using the DVI-D port, as the Qnix monitor only works with a dual link DVI port. (No HDMI or Display Port available on the monitor)

    10.9 GM Released.

I changed through various shades of desktop images and as far as I can see, that is not a glitch or a bug. It's pretty much normal.

    10.9 GM Released.

What bug in the top right corner? I have not seen 1 graphic / ui glitch since dp1. This has been the most stable dp ever. Leather? Where?
  11. my apologies... made a fool of myself (blush) I did not think to look at the date. I got that article from their web site. Sorry move along people... this is embarassing. Still think they are dodgy though. They promised first motherboard shipments in June. Did anyone receive theirs? Tomorrow is July.

    Hackintosh Search

I sincerely hope this does not bring up the hundreds of useless info results google throws out coming from the TinyMac forums. But I will try it.
  13. Ooops! Edited to delete my post. Embrassed much! Old article was old!

    OS X 10.9 DP's builds

I have been running DP1 & DP2 as my main OS for a while now and have nothing to contribute towards glitches, freezes, black screens or anything that anyone else is experiencing. In fact, both DP versions have given nothing but solid stable performance. Boot time has decreased to the point of the spinning wheel not having time to display... from the Chameleon menu, OS X loads in under 3 seconds which is 2 seconds faster than ML on my SSD. The only issues I have had was with some CS5 apps like Photoshop and InDesign which have erratic behaviour and crash sometimes. Other than that ... perfect. Apps will have DP issues as these get ironed out before release, but the main function of OS Mavericks is near perfect on my setup. Easiest install ever, with no tweaks, no patches or fixes other than the usual DSDT, FakeSMC and patched AppleHDA. The rest is untouched. Kind of boring when everything works. I miss the challenges.
