moreorless
I wish to build a Hackintosh which is as quiet as possible, and also with as few moving parts as possible. My goals are both getting a low noise level, and reduce the risk of mechanical failures. However, I agree that getting rid of fans introduces the risk of electronic failure due to hot temperatures, so you need to do some balancing here. I'm also avoiding liquid cooling, because I think that's not what I want (too complicated and too expensive if you want 100% leak-free guarantee) I just saw the fanless gfx card Zotac GTX 640 Zone Edition. Would you recommend it? Or does it get too hot? What I'm looking for is some discrete gfx card, suitable for playing The Sims 3 with good performance, but with passive cooling, yet without a too high risk of reduced lifetime due to high temps. Does such a card exist? Thanks!
