mrmess Posted September 24, 2006 Share Posted September 24, 2006 Could anyone help me ? i got a SATA Drive and tried to instal OSX , it didnt work! So i put an IDE hdd in my computer and tried it again, but it didnt work too. I formatted it (FAT32) and everything. when i choose Mac OSX Extended JOURNALED and press ok it starts with "partitioning" but then it hangs.... what can i do ? Rammjet Posted September 24, 2006 Share Posted September 24, 2006 Format the entire drive as FAT32 in Windows or Linux. This will set up the needed MBR partitioning scheme. Then in Disk Utility, do not select the Partition tab, but select the Erase tab. On the left, click on the only partition (right below the hard drive) and on the right, be sure it is set to MacOS Extended Journaled. Then click the Erase button. mrmess Posted September 24, 2006 Author Share Posted September 24, 2006 I did this ! But when i start with erasing , it says "Partitioning" and hangs. After that i made 2 partitions in Windows , but no Partition was seen in the Installation.
