macbrush
I just upgraded my q9450 hack to i7 3770 on a Gigabyte Z77-DS3H board. The process was pretty painless, I just removed some unnecessary kexts, set BIOS to boot legacy and then it just works, with one exception; my PCI cards aren't working anymore. I know it is something to do with the PCI-PCIe bridge since Z77 doesn't natively support PCI slots, but I can't seem to find a solution. I have tried setting PCIRootUID=0 to no avail. Any suggestion or pointer would be very much appreciated. macbrush
I guess I will have to answer my own question. First of all, I apologise since it wasn't really a OS X problem nor BIOS. It was the 8 pin 12V somehow wasn't connected properly. The sitting looked fine, even have power on the firewire devices, but somehow it didn't supply any power to the PCI cards. I had to re-sit it a couple of times to get it working.
