Chris Lockheart
Hey guys! Well, after a while wondering and trying, I finally was able to boot my OSX86 (deadmoo's 10.4.1) My biggest problem was with the HFS+ error. By now, I guess I have figured out this stuff. When dd'ing the .img, most tutorials tells you to use the "skip=63" stuff. Though the wiki says something about this, it wasen't clear for me. The skip=63 is used to skip the first 63 bytes of the drive, so that you can install a boot manager. It wasen't working out for me because i was not instaling a dual boot system. After many tries, I dd'ed the .img without the skip=63, so that OSX could boot alone directly. Making a long story short, if you're going to do a dual boot install, you should use "skip=63". If not, don't use it Hope this will be of some help. Cheers!!
bullit
Congratulations on your "new" macintel. I'm trying to install a 10.4.1 too via DVD but I couldn't mount any partition. The target drive is a 40gb IDE (set as slave). The DVD drive is set as master and a 160GB Seagate SATAII with XP sitting on it.
Technoman
Thanks Chris. This was the bit of information I needed to get it up and running. When I first saw the login screen after 5 failed attempts, I thought I would cry.
