HD (is it regular spindle or is it an SSD)? Give us the full specs of your machine. Also, I am moving this to the correct forum: notebooks. The version of OSX i want is ofcourse the latest one, but not so important just a version that will work. I have 4GB RAM and no SSD, regular one (SATA), i dont have any optical drive..
