Laptop:NEC versa e2000 which has a partition to store "restore system"

I didn't delete that partition.

I install osx86 from DVD.But when I reboot, it says"missing operation system".

After booted from the DVD,I use the "startup disk" to reboot to the "hfs partition",and it successfully runs.

How do I use it to boot to osx86 without using DVD?

Your system boots into OSX after selecting it in the startup disk panel? if so just edit your boot.plist file

<key>Quiet Boot</key>

<string>No</string>

<key>Timeout</key>

<string>8</string>

This should give you the boot prompt similar to the DVD (eight seconds) if you press enter, you should be given the option to boot to mac or windows.

Where should this "boot.plist" file be? I tried looking for it using spotlight, but no joy. When I boot up, if I want to boot anything but OSX, I have to press the F8 button right after the post. Any sugestions???? Using the Darwin boot loader....

/Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration/com.apple.Boot.plist
