Bunta
AMD Phenom II X4 955BE Asus M4A78-E AM2+ Board (AMD 790GX chipset) 8GB DDR2 RAM. (4x 2GB) ATI 4890 Graphics Card So lets run through my install process.. Created a 60GB partition on one of my HDs. (MBR partition) Set Sleep to S3, AHCI set, C1E & Cool 'n' Quiet disabled in BIOS. Booted up using nawcom's modcd, installed 10.6.3; following AppliArt's excellent guide. (Installed Legacy Kernel, AppleATIATA & VoodooHDA) Used nawcom's modcd to boot into SL, using the following arguments: arch=i386 -force64 Downloaded & installed the 10.6.8 combo update, followed by nawcom's 10.6.8 v2 kernal & netkas's qe/ci exotic 4890 patch; restarted afterwards. Installed VoodooHDA 2.7.3 to correct sound crackle associated with AMD systems; also using idlehalt=0 kernel arg. Updated chameleon to rev. 1902 (via Chameleon Wizard) Amended chameleon .plist to include EthernetBuiltIn to Yes, to fix App Store error. Manually installed SleepEnabler.kext (from nawcom's 10.6.8 release) by using Champlist to install the kext. Followed camerongray's guide to enable 4GB+ RAM under SL without crashing 32bit programs. Replaced nawcom's 10.6.8 kernel with AnV's 10.6.8 V2 kernel. Removed VoodooHDA altogether by running voodoohda-uninstall; no longer getting audio crackles & removed idlehalt=0 kernel arg. Now my issue is, id randomly get kernal panics when I'm either watching a film (through Niceplayer) or browsing the internet. Sometimes i get KPs, sometimes I dont. I realise that I should be saving / documenting these by way of snapshots, but is there something that I've missed from the above installation procedure that could be contributing to this. Furthermore; Sleep doesnt work at all. I'd select sleep, the screen goes black but the computer is still on, switches 'off' then back on within literally a second, screen comes back up. Everything is peachy (apart from the fact it didnt sleep), but keyboard & mouse dont work.. Regards, Trunkz. Update: Kernel Panic #1 - Started the computer, booted into chameleon, soon as the desktop showed up, that error came up. Nothing was done prior. My DSDT file #2 Boot.plist file #3 - Chameleon boot file.
