I've just installed Mac OS X 10.7 Lion on VMWare and have ran the update to make sure that I have the latest version of the OS installed.

I attempted to download xCode via the app store, but I was unsuccessful in doing so because every time I clicked "install app" I would get the infinite spinning wheel and nothing would happen regardless of hours of waiting.

I began thinking if it was because my OS wasn't up to date. A search showed that XCode required 10.7.3 or higher to run and that my version of the OS was stuck at 10.7 so I tried installing 10.4 but was met with resistance saying that I needed 10.7.3 first.

I installed 10.7.3 and was told that my hard drive's volume configuration did not match the requirements to install the 10.7.3 update and became more confused.

All I want to do is to be able to use XCode to create my own iOS App. Does anyone know how to solve this problem?
