Azerto
Hi, I have a strange issue with my Lion install. After several months where everything was working perfectly, Chameleon just stopped to work : i don't get the Chameleon boot menu , the rotating line (Chameleon progress indicator) stops at '\' in a black screen I didn't do anything related to Chameleon before that. I am able to boot with an old installation of Snown leopard / Chamelon 1 on an USB drive. In snow leopard, I did the following actions : * Ensure Lion partition is readable / working / verified in disk utility * Ensure EFI partition is readable / working / verified in disk utility * Re-installed boot, boot0, boot1h on efi partition -> No changes My setup is a Gigabit EP35 DS4 , Lion 10.7.3 (only os), 2 drives w/GPT partition table : 1 OS, 1 Time machine, Chameleon 2.1 rev 1650, EFI partition install with most fixes from DSDT.aml (cmos reset, sound, ...) . Any idea of what is blocking Chameleon ? Update : Chameleon messages on boot : boot0: GPT boot0: test boot0: done boot1: /boot <clear screen> \ Thanks Edited July 1, 2012 by Azerto Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/280198-chameleon-21-no-longer-boots/ Share on other sites

Azerto
Thanks for your advice. I rather understand what happened and fix the issue manually. Do you suspect a problem with my revision of Chameleon ? When you says Chameleon Wizard, you mean the one for the thread "Chameleon 2.1svn Official PKG Installer & Binaries" ? It seems to have an issue with EFI partitions ("Note: Installation to the EFI system partition is currently disabled due to new features in the package installer.") so I'm back to the manual install. I've updated the first message with Chameleon output. Azerto
Ok, I got exactly this issue : http://forum.voodooprojects.org/index.php/topic,2321.0.html When my 2TB Timemachine disk is connected, Chameleon no longer boot. This disk was connected for several months, nothing changed, but gets in a state where Chameleon 2 ONLY cannot boot. Gringo Vermelho
First, try running a repair on the drive using Disk Utility. If nothing changes, try this, add.. USBBusFix y ..to your /Extra/org.Chameleon.Boot.plist. The author of the topic you linked to fixed his issue by reformatting the external hard drive (GUID, HFS+J) and using boot0md instead of boot0. Install Chameleon manually using my guide and nearly up-to-date files here: http://forum.voodoop...x.php/topic,649 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/280198-chameleon-21-no-longer-boots/#findComment-1830746 Share on other sites
Azerto
Thanks for your answers. I fixed the problem with the following actions (not sure of the one which resolved it ) : * upgrade to the latest Chameleon 2.1 (still using standard boot0) * Added <key>Rescan</key><string>No</string> to com.apple.Boot.plist (prevents Chameleon to look at the 2TB secondary disk) Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/280198-chameleon-21-no-longer-boots/#findComment-1831106 Share on other sites
