Turaiel
Has anyone gotten OS X working at all on an HP Pavilion dv7-4280us? My roommate tried and never got it working. I'd like to try to get Snow Leopard working on it, and it seems like I might have a long, hard road ahead of me. The main reasons are that it has switchable graphics and HP's proprietary ClickPad, which have caused issues on even Linux. There really aren't any resources out there for my model that I've seen. If anyone has any suggestions they can offer, I would hugely appreciate it. Maybe if I can get Snow Leopard working, I'll be able to upgrade to Lion later. Thanks in advance for any answers! fallen101
I do not have that computer. But if switchblad graphics might be an issue you can download it take a look at http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Display-and-Video/how-to-disable-switchable-graphics/td-p/1261321
Turaiel
Thanks for the response. I have HP BIOS F.29, which is the latest. I hadly have any options available to me, and I know for sure that switchable graphics aren't one of them. I've tried ######, ###### Legacy, and Nawcom with the Snow Leopard DVD, and no amount of flags will allow me to get past a panic referencing "pmap_steal_memory". EDIT: I'm also curious as to why i b0ot got censored. I know that you guys don't support anything illegal on the forum, but it seems to me that's one of the better supported and legal methods.
