dadofender
Hi everyone, this is my first post, I'm actually looking for help or any kind of suggestion.. I'm trying to install any version of Mac on this pc: AMD Phenom II x4 955 @3.2ghz RAM 6GB Exceleram 1333mhz Motherboard AsRock M3A UCC XFX Radeon HD6870 Double Dissipation 1GB GDDR5 SATA 250GB Seagate HDD (This one with Windows) SATA 160GB WD HDD (Empty FAT32 disk, trying to get it as my Mac's partition) IDE DVD reader Do you guys have any suggestion on which distro I should use? I've tried with iAtkos v7, Snow Leopard 10.6.1-10.6.2 Intel & AMD by Hazard, Kalyway 10.5.2. Hazard and Kalyway keeps rebooting even with flags (-x, cpus=1, busratio=20, arch=i386, etc.. and obviously -v) iAtkos starts booting but I get a kernel panic about "VoodooKernel", tried also with many different flags, still nothing. Oh I've also tried to change IDE to AHCI, but It didn't change anything... Should I try with the retail version and a pre-boot CD? Or another distro? I may post a guide If I manage to install Leopard or even Snow Leopard, since there's not a guide for my Motherboard yet Thanks! Foxic
Try with Nawcoms ModCD and a 10.6.3 retail disk. Common BIOS settings are: set HPET to 64bit, set Suspend Type to S3, enable AHCI mode. dadofender
I'm stuck.. In a few words, I have the .dmg now, it's a retail version of SL 10.6.3. Since I do not have a mac, I've tried to restore the dmg with SL on VirtualBox, on a USB drive, and then use Nawcom MODUSB.. The USB drive is ok, but the source file (dmg) seems to be corrupted.. it says "could not validate file - not recognized" whenever I try to restore to the usb drive. Disk Utility's First Aid is not solving the problem tho..It doesn't say of the dmg is ok, and it doesn't repair it.. Please don't tell me to re-download, it took me ages D: Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/279253-any-mac-osx-version-on-asrock-m3aucc-with-phenom-ii-x4/#findComment-1822638 Share on other sites
dadofender
Should I try with another retail dmg? Anyone? Maybe I'll buy it and try with NawcomCD instead of USB... Foxic
try using transmac from windows. If you can buy the 10.6.3 retail dvd that would be the best way as it is dual layer and you can probably find it cheaper than a pack of dual layer DVDs. I bought mine off ebay for £8. dadofender
Okay, I have a retail 10.6.3 Snow leopard, and a Nawcom ModCD 3.3... When I boot from cd it says error about EBIOS and sectors... Foxic
Is your HDD set up as a RAID array? Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/279253-any-mac-osx-version-on-asrock-m3aucc-with-phenom-ii-x4/#findComment-1824161 Share on other sites
dadofender
What does that mean exactly? Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/279253-any-mac-osx-version-on-asrock-m3aucc-with-phenom-ii-x4/#findComment-1824318 Share on other sites
Foxic
If you don't know what a RAID array is there is little chance that you have a RAID setup. Try re-burning the disk, us the slowest speed possible. dadofender
Burned Nawcom MODCD twice at 4x speed.. Same Ebios error with "device timeout" Maybe it's a bios error, which settings should I follow? Foxic
Set SATA controller to AHCI is available, if not set it to RAID but don't set a RAID array. Set sleep to S3 Set HPET to 64 bit Enable Legacy USB Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/279253-any-mac-osx-version-on-asrock-m3aucc-with-phenom-ii-x4/#findComment-1824473 Share on other sites
dadofender
Hooray, I've managed to start the installation this way: Sata controller: IDE (AHCI gives "device timeout", and RAID doesn't recognize my hard disks...IDE starts the installation pretty fine) HPET: Enabled (options are Enabled or Disabled) I've also disabled floppy, seems to block the installation :/ Anyway, set the language, set the hard disk to Journaled, but I get an error while installing: "the installer could not copy the necessary support files" We're getting close to it EDIT::: Surfing on internet, people say that if you have 3 ram sticks, or a system with >4GB ram, you will get that error...then I started the installation from Nawcom CD with -v flag and maxmem=4096 flag, the installation starts, but this time I get a Double Panic while it says "29 minutes left"...I'll get a photo soon Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/279253-any-mac-osx-version-on-asrock-m3aucc-with-phenom-ii-x4/#findComment-1824587 Share on other sites
dadofender
Should I try removing a ram stick? from 6GB to 4GB? Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/279253-any-mac-osx-version-on-asrock-m3aucc-with-phenom-ii-x4/#findComment-1824879 Share on other sites

dadofender
If I boot with that flag, I get a double panic about IOMemory while it's installing...about at half bar of installation :/ Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/279253-any-mac-osx-version-on-asrock-m3aucc-with-phenom-ii-x4/#findComment-1824997 Share on other sites
Foxic
Try physically removing a stick or 2 then. Take it down to 2 of 4 gb and see how it likes that. dadofender
Phisically removed a stick of RAM, and here we go, OSX is installed succesfully, except wi-fi which is not working, and 1024x768 resolution xD I can transfer files from windows with VM or directly from Hard disk, what should I download? EDIT: on system info, it says 3,19ghz unknown processor and 2GB DDR2 800mhz ...I have 4GB DDR3 1333mhz, why it says DDR 800? o.o Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/279253-any-mac-osx-version-on-asrock-m3aucc-with-phenom-ii-x4/#findComment-1826352 Share on other sites
dadofender
Bump, I've tried to install some kexts for my HD6870 1GB and for my wi-fi, but I couldn't get the system working anymore, so I've reinstalled...and now I have another problem: once it loads the desktop, it freezes, I can move the cursor, but everything looks dead :S Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/279253-any-mac-osx-version-on-asrock-m3aucc-with-phenom-ii-x4/#findComment-1826721 Share on other sites
dadofender
Wi-Fi Working succesfully, Solved by downloading Ralink Drivers for mac, from windows. Now it's time to make the XFX HD6870 work, everytime I try to install some HD6xxx controllers, it fails at boot.. in -v mode, I can see the "DSMOS Has arrived" but it freezes there :S After that, I would like to have all my ram, my pc had 6GB, but I had to remove a stick to let the installation begin, but now it reads only 2GB instead of 4, and it says DDR2 800, while it's DDR3 1333 xD We're getting close to it :3 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/279253-any-mac-osx-version-on-asrock-m3aucc-with-phenom-ii-x4/#findComment-1826954 Share on other sites
