namrood
Hi all I have used a pc all my life till June last year when I took the plunge and bought an iMac. Since then I have always wanted a portable Mac but having forked out just of £1000 on the iMac I can't realy afford a new one and also my job is being made redundant so need to start looking for a new job.. Anyhow I have been given a number of netbooks, and I have decided to convert them to run mac os x. Now they all have a 1 fault or another. The netboosks are: Acer Aspire One D250 - Will not accept an hard drive apart from the one it came with and has a loose screen cable, replacement ordered, hdd is 160gig and 1 gig ram Lenovo Ideapad S10-2 - This is basically in bits and needs anew screen, a few internal parts, like hdd caddy, usb daughter board, charger which are all on order but basically this is in bits and it also has a 500gig hdd and 1 gih ram Compaq Mini 700EA - this has got a few case screws missing but I have order replacements and also orders zif cable and hard drive (was able to get 80gig only) this has 2 gig ram fingers crossed I will get them all working properly soon Now this is wherer I get a bit stuck I have found loads of tutorials to install snow leopard ad leopard on this netbooks, but as I own the imac I have bought Lion. I do have an upgrade disc of snow leopard which is a retail version - but not sure if I can d an clean install Which one of these netbooks would you use? Can I install Lion on them? Or would you use Snow Leopard/Leopard? Alos any helpful tips and trick sowuld be nice!!
