tlytkine
My friend asked me to install OSX on his laptop so... I decided I will give it a shot.. It is a HP DV7-3065dx with the following specs: 2.40 GHz AMD Turion II Ultra Dual-Core Mobile Processor M600 4GB RAM ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3200 Some Audio Chipset I didn't feel like researching... Atheros AR9285 What I have done so far Downloaded & burned iAtkos S3 V2 & Hazard to blank DVD's Prepared a USB Drive with the 10.6.8 combo update, a kext for the video, network and Voodoo HDA, and the 10.6.8 Legacy Kernel What I plan on doing... Using iAtkos or Hazard to boot to the OSX installer Install OS X with the AMD kernel (whichever disk I can get to boot first) Don't install anything else After a HOPEFULLY sucessful installation I will boot to OS X and install the 10.6.8 combo update while I have ######, the 10.6.8 legacy kernel, VoodooHDA and ###### open. Install all the kexts I downloaded, the legacy kernel and VoodooHDA (check ###### for any specific options for my hardware also...) after the installation is over, Finally, reboot to a hopefully fully working 10.6.8 installation with QE/CI, working Wi-Fi & ethernet, and working sound. Considering that I don't want to mess up I would like to have some suggestions or tips that would help me out with this process. I also have a few questions: Can you get the touch buttons working on the top? Does the built-in webcam work? & Is there anybody who has either done this before or has any hardware similiar to the specs listed above?
