I will start by saying this 10.6.8 OS has been running very smooth and fast for over a year. It runs 24/7 as a web server and FTP server. Vanilla install with MyHack 1.1 never bothered with sound as I use a Soundblaster USB works OOB. Never succeeded with Graphics but1024x768 was fine. The card was 8500GTX. New application update has required better graphics. Spent hours reading about the 8500 card and tried everything. Nothing worked. Bought a new in the box Asus 8400GS 512 as it was said to be an easy install. I am doing this on a fresh clean HDD, 750GB. I have erased the drive more than a dozen times trying everything I read. Kakewalk and MyHack do very well and Kakewalk has my DSDT as well. The machine boots fine. I can go to the machine in my shop and ftp between the 2. No problems there. What I get is the grey Apple screen, no spinner. OS loads fine but graphics stops after a few seconds. GraphicsEnabler - yes or no doesnt change it. DVI port is the same except a smaller screen. I am on this machine now using an old 10.6.6 hard drive. This drive has a problem and will not boot on it's own. I don't care which card works. Sure someone has got one working in 10.6.8???

Tried that. Tried everything but an efi string and as soon as i learn how I will try it too. There must be something simple I have overlooked. Who actually has the 8400 or 8500 board working on 10.6.8?

I now have the 8500 installed. heres the profiler info:
