sleep issues with a P5LP-LE motherboard

I have an HP m7757c MediaCenter

P5LP-LE motherboard

Core 2 Duo E6400 © DC 2.13 GHz

Intel 945G

GeForce 7500LE

Realtek ALC 888 chipset

I used i boot and easy beast to install snow leopard 10.6.3 and then upgraded to 10.6.8. I kept the vanilla kernel. The video, audio and ethernet are all working because of kexts that were installed. I did not use a DSDT file. The only real trick was setting graphicsenabler to "no" in org.chameleon.Boot.plist. The lspci results are pasted in at the bottom.

The problem is sleep. The computer will not come out of sleep I have to hold down the power button and re-start. Some times it will come out of sleep, but if it has slept once it will defiantly lock up the next time it sleeps. It also will not always see a USB flash drive and if going to sleep doesn't completely lock up the computer than the flash drive will no longer be mounted when it wakes up.

I have tried the following:

IOUSBfamily rollback that is included with easy beast

Slices IOUSBfamily.kext

DSDT Editor - EHCI, ICH9 sleep, ECHI ownership, ECHI sleep, ICH9 USB sleep

Any help would be appreciated.

  • 3 weeks later...

Upgrading tp 10.6.8 seems to have fixed my USB problems, but sleep is still not working. Once the computer goes to sleep it will not wake up. I have to hold down the power button until it restarts.

I tried installing Nawcoms sleepenabler.kext for 10.6.8. That made it so that when I tap the keyboard or mouse to wake up the computer, the computer re-boots.

With the sleepenabler kext installed I tried installing OpenHaltRestart kext, it had no effect. I also tried the OSXRestart kext but it also had no effect. And I re-tried this with the EvOreBoot kext removed, but that did not change anything.

I used DSDT Editor and a pre-made file for my mobo to make a DSDT file. That seemed to have no effect on sleep.

Any ideas? I am trying everything that I can think of.
