M, The best way is to upgrade to Workstation 8.0.2 or Player 4.0.2, then you can run Lion 10.7.3 fine, still a few issues with ML, but I am sure they will be resolved shortly, if not already. If you uninstall the current VMware Tools in your SL VM, then upgrade to 8.0.2 or 4.0.2, install the latest unlocker 1.0.2, then your SL should run fine, and you will be able to install the latest VMware Tools, the iso is included in Donk's 1.0.2 unlocker. Then you can use the App Store to download Lion or ML (if you have a developer redemption key). Plenty of additional help, look at Donk or my (MSoK) hot topics as a starter. Thank you, can you explain me what shall I use to upgrade? A normal retail cd? M. OK if you mean VMware Workstation or Player, they are available on the vmware.com site. If you mean Lion, then you either need to be a developer for Lion or ML, or purchase Lion from the App Store within SL 10.6.8, or buy the Lion Thumb drive from the Apple Store, we only deal with vanilla OS X on this site. The Thumb drive will just mount in VMware, from the App Store, you will need to copy the DMG out of the installation content, and use this as the source for your installation. Hello again, I managed to update vmware workstation and upgrade to lion 10.7.3 (first 10.7, then update via "software update"). Everything is working fine, except for vmware tools. I can't find a version of the tools fully working. VMware shared folders icon appears for a second on the desktop after boot, then disappears. Guest is also NOT autofitting. Any help on that? Thanks. M. vmware tools stopped working after the update from 10.7 to 10.7.3 they worked fine on 10.7 Edited April 3, 2012 by manuxio Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/277619-upgrade-to-lion/#findComment-1810912 Share on other sites
